Walk the Talk
Come participate in a fun easy one-mile walk through the beautiful UC Berkeley campus and help bring much needed affordable housing to the Bay Area. The walk is open to everyone, both young and young-at-heart.   RCD will be hosting this walk/fundraiser during Affordable Housing Week to offer the community the opportunity to learn more about affordable housing and give supporters of affordable housing and friends of RCD the opportunity to be partners with us in our mission to “create and preserve affordable housing for those with the fewest options.”

What Are We Walking For?
Opening doors to affordable homes also opens doors to opportunities for many people.
The East Bay ranks as the 24th least affordable metropolitan area in the nation (source: NAHB/Wells Fargo Housing Opportunity Index) with the demand for affordable housing for the lowest-income families and individuals rising every year.  RCD works to put a dent in this need.  When individuals and families are not forced to choose between food or other essentials because their rent is reasonable for their income they have more options to improve their lives. Along with building safe quality affordable housing RCD also provides a variety of services for our residents. These services are designed to help residents improve daily living skills and often simply help individuals and families maintain their housing.  Some of our resident services include:  after school programs for children and youth, computer training, budget and finance training, health programs and helping residents find other needed social or medical services in their areas.
