"Grand Opening of Fox Courts in Uptown Oakland"

WHAT:
On Thursday October 8, 2009, Resources for Community Development (RCD) hosts the grand opening of Fox Courts, 80 artfully designed units of transit-oriented, permanently affordable housing for low-income families and individuals. Located in Oakland’s newly unveiled Uptown, Fox Courts is the only fully affordable housing parcel that was developed in the Uptown District alongside market-rate apartments and condominiums. The event continues RCD’s celebration of 25 years of work in the East Bay affordable housing community.

PROGRAM:
Grand opening reception, program and tours. Confirmed speakers include: Oakland City Council President, Jane Brunner; Council Member, Nancy Nadel; Acting Deputy Director of Housing and Community Development, Jeff Levine; Executive Director East Bay Housing Organizations, Amie Fishman, and others.
VISUALS
Newly installed public art murals by local artists Eduardo Pena, Joaquin Newman and students from Oakland School for the Arts; Fox Courts courtyards and interiors; adjacent Uptown Park.
