"Grand Opening of Shinsei Gardens in Alameda"

WHAT: On Thursday October 27, 2009 Resources for Community Development (RCD) will host the grand opening of Shinsei Gardens, 39 units of green, inspired design for permanently affordable housing for low-income families and individuals in the City of Alameda. Shinsei Gardens is Green Point Rated and is a candidate for LEED Platinum certification for environmentally sustainable design. This event continues RCD’s celebration of 25 years of work in the East Bay affordable housing community.
WHEN: Tuesday October 27, 4:30 -6:00 pm

401 Willie Stargell Avenue at Coral Sea, Alameda, CA
PROGRAM: Grand opening reception, tours, program, children’s activities and awards. Confirmed speakers include: City of Alameda Mayor, Berkeley Johnson; City of Alameda Housing Commissioner, Art Kurrasch; Alameda Public Utilities Board President, Gregory Hamm; Operation Dignity Executive Director, Alex MacElree.
VISUALS: Stunning architecture and landscaping in a new affordable housing development; a must see. Tours of open units and site, artwork from local artists in community room.
