In addition to the opportunities listed below, please let us know if you have a special skill or talent to share! While the level of commitment required varies with the times and locations, here are sample volunteer opportunities currently available:
- Senior Companion Program in Berkeley: weekly wellness check-in with senior residents that encourages community engagement in social activities, light exercise, and educational workshops
- Youth After School Programs in Baypoint and Oakland: homework help and art and cultural activities for youth ages 4-18 to support academic achievement
- Mercy Brown Bag Program: deliver healthy food twice a month to seniors at two sites in Berkeley
- Special Events: we offer activities at our sites throughout the year, e.g. barbeques, National Night Out, holiday parties, and informational workshops, and need help to organize and facilitate
- Translation Services: help us reach our culturally diverse residents at community meetings and one-time events and through translation of flyers, brochures, and newsletters, as well as provide indivudual translation to help residents understand medical, social, financial, and other issues
