Oxford Plaza is an exciting new construction residential development of 97 apartments for very low and low-income individuals and families. Within walking distance of BART, UC Berkeley, public schools, the library, YMCA, the Farmers Market, retail stores, restaurants and a growing arts district, Oxford Plaza is a visionary urban infill and smart growth project. It demonstrates sustainable development that locates affordable workforce and family housing right next to major employers and major transit linkages. Oxford Plaza is green, pedestrian friendly and part of a dynamic mixed use environment comprised of commercial space, underground public and residential parking and The David Brower Center, a world-class environmental center.

The 97 affordable housing units offer a range of affordability to extremely low-income households at 20% AMI (Area Median Income), or $12,060 annually for individuals, up to 60% AMI or $51,660 annually for a family of four. The layout of studios, one, two and three-bedroom units serve a variety of households, including disabled people, seniors, and large families. Five of the units are reserved for residents that qualify under the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) Program and four units are reserved for residents that qualify under the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA). All units are designed to be adaptable to accommodate the varying physical needs of future residents and 5% of the units are designed to be fully accessible.

Oxford Plaza's high level of green building materials include high slag content concrete, many energy efficient systems and green building materials. These systems and materials include radiant floor heating, natural linoleum and recycled carpeting, low VOC paints, Energy Star appliances, high energy efficiency lighting, hot water partially provided by a solar hot water panel collection system constructed to exceed Title 24 Energy standards by over 15%.
