1515 Geary Road, Walnut Creek, CA Villa Vasconcellos is an exciting new project that will bring beautifully-designed and landscaped affordable senior housing to Walnut Creek in 2007. This three-story building contains 69 one-bedroom apartments and one manager’s unit. RCD worked with the City of Walnut Creek to purchase a site that formerly housed an Alzheimer’s day facility. Villa Vasconcellos offers a unique program for seniors, focused on healthy living and assisting seniors in maintaining their independence. This “aging-in-place” model supports independent living for seniors 55+ as they age comfortably at home. RCD will provide onsite supportive service activities, advocacy, and health linkages that are catered to both healthy seniors and those with special needs and will also collaborate with local service providers to provide both a weekly program of activities including onsite visits from a nurse practitioner, nutritionist visits, and weekly exercise classes.
