Caldera Place is an outstanding example of a community coming together to provide affordable, accessible housing for low-income members of our society with the most pressing special needs, while creating a beautiful development that acts as a landmark and showplace for what can be accomplished in the development of affordable, supportive housing. Caldera Place is the winner of two national awards for its excellence: the AIA/HUD 2002 Alan J. Rothman Housing Accessibility Award for its ingenious design and accessibility, and the National Association for Local Housing Finance Agencies HOME Award for its innovation in using Contra Costa County HOME funds.
