Camara Circle Apartments

Concord, CA
52 units for very low and low-income families
2 bedroom units
Completed 2001

The Camara Circle neighborhood in Concord had the reputation for being run-down with drug use and criminal activity. In response to the City of Concord’s request for affordable housing, RCD created the Camara Circle Initiative in 2000 and acquired and rehabilitated 11 apartment complexes, totaling 52 units for very low-income families. Camara Circle is now a thriving, stable community that is actively involved in maintaining a safe living environment within the circle. In 2004, after hard work from the residents and RCD staff, the community celebrated the opening of a community park located in the center of Camara Circle. The park is open to all residents and includes a playground, benches, barbeque pits, and a miniature soccer field.
