Resources for Community Development was selected by the City of Oakland Redevelopment Agency to develop 80 units of permanent affordable housing in the Uptown District of Oakland. Fox Courts will provide permanent affordable apartments for families, people with special needs, individuals, and seniors with incomes ranging between 30% and 60% of the Area Median Income.

Fox Courts is designed around two common courtyards and embodies green building design and materials. It includes space for a childcare center with access to a play area in one of the courtyards and a new neighborhood park directly across the street. A community room, children’s art space, and computer room will flank the courtyards.  Office space will accommodate an on-site manager and resident services coordinator. The building will be accessible by elevator. Laundry will be provided on site. All units will be computer-ready. Parking for cars and bicycles will be located in the underground garage. Part of a vibrant new community of more than 800 market rate apartments and condominiums, new retail, and the restored Fox Theatre, the design maximizes livability, sustainability, safety and security, and neighborhood integration.
